About Us

Every hat we make has a story, and it starts right here in Appling, Georgia.

We are Patrick and Sandra, and we started Georgia Hat Company in 2022 after making Rule 62 hats as gifts for friends in long term recovery. The first hat we ever made was a Rule 62 hat. Rule 62 simply means: Don’t take yourself too damn seriously. It is a reminder Patrick has carried through more than 20 years of sobriety, and we believe it is something everyone can live by.

They were meant as encouragement, but soon, strangers from all over were asking how to get one. That is when we realized we had something special.

Our barn became a workshop. Our kitchen table turned into a design desk. And our lives started revolving around creating hats with heart. From the first stitch to the last piece of tape on the box, it all happens here, by hand, with care, and with plenty of Southern hospitality.
